Baby Album Cover Page

I had finished my daughter’s baby album many years ago. I inherited photos of my kids as babies from relatives who passed on. I wanted to add them to my children’s albums. So I thought I would do a refresh and update some of their pages. First and foremost I discovered I had not done a cover page in my daughter’s album. Not having many good quality birth photos, I selected a photo that made me smile.

I designed this cover page to highlight the photo’s vibrant colors and capture its unique atmosphere, making it the true centerpiece of the layout. For the background, I layered Stampin’ Up’s Bloom Impressions Designer Series Paper and added subtle texture using the Elements of Text and the Stitchery cling stamps. The title was created with Very Vanilla cardstock and cut using the SU Mini Alphabet Dies.

I incorporated details from the Impressions A’Bloom Stamp and Die Set, paired with the retired CTMH Sweet Safari Stamp & Die Set, and stamped accents in SU Melon Mambo ink for a cheerful pop of color. To finish the page, I added coordinating embellishments made with the retired CTMH Tags & Tabs dies, giving the layout depth and dimension while keeping the photo the star of the page.

I rarely do one page layouts, let alone with only one photo. I really loved the colors and the how everything came together. I especially love the textured flowers. Sometimes simple is more.
