Scrapbook pages Inspired by Christmas in France
Some places stay with you long after the trip ends—and Strasbourg at Christmas is one of those places for me.
As evening fell and the lights came on, the city truly glowed. The cathedral, the streets, the shop windows, the garlands stretched overhead—it all felt magical, peaceful, and full of wonder. While Scrapbooking these memories, I knew I wanted the pages to reflect that feeling of warmth, light, and quiet joy.
Capturing the Glow on Paper
For these pages, my focus was on:
- Creating movement across the top of the layout
- Using layered elements to echo the garlands and lights
- Letting the photos shine while still telling the story
I especially loved designing a garland-style element across the pages—it became the visual thread that tied everything together and mirrored what we saw walking through the Christmas markets at night.
These pages are a reminder that scrapbook layouts don’t have to be complicated to be meaningful. Sometimes, it’s about choosing one strong design idea and letting it carry the story.

If you enjoy seeing how a page comes together from start to finish, I shared the full process video for these When Strasbourg Glows pages on my YouTube channel.
In the video, I walk through:
- How I planned the layout
- Why I chose certain design elements
- Tips for creating visual flow across a two-page spread
- Encouragement to use what you already have in new ways
